Dealing with a crisis is something we may all face at some point in our lives. Sudden death, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, suicide, theft or disaster and tragedy can strike anyone at anytime.
In addition to shock, fear, rage, isolation, confusion and grief, victims may experience intense mental and physical distress. They may need assistance in coping with the crisis.
Victim Services is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides immediate emotional support, practical assistance and referral information to victims of crime and tragic circumstance. Our crisis intervention model assists individuals and families in accessing longer term support.
Our mandate is to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 seven days a week. Victim Services is mainly activated by Police but may also be utilized by other Emergency Services, Community organizations, Schools, General public and Self Referral.
WE NEED CARING, COMPASSIONATE INDIVIDUALS TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED LOSS AND TRAUMA DUE TO CRIME OR TRAGIC CIRCUMSTANCE.
Victim Services receives funding from the Ministry of the Attorney General, Victim Justice Fund, and adheres to all provincial standards of victim crisis assistance and referrals services.
Crisis assistance is given by specially trained Crisis Support Volunteers to those in need and services are offered free of charge.
Victim Services of Perth County operates throughout Perth County in cooperation with Stratford Police Services, and the Ontario Provincial Police.
